Videos posted on social media show Cubans young and old calling for “liberty,” and chanting “Down with the dictatorship” and “Down with communism.” There’s a reason they’re not crying out things more like, “We hate the America” and “U.S. sucks.” You would have to attend a BLM rally for that.

Black Lives Matter has been accused of hypocrisy by ignoring the pleas for help from Cuba’s oppressed citizens — instead blaming the violent protests on US opposition to the Communist “revolution.”

It’s hard to convey to those who live in the free world what life is like under a totalitarian dictatorship. I’d never experienced anything remotely like it before I traveled to Cuba in 2017 to report a story for WIRED magazine, and it was one of the most memorable and unpleasant experiences of my life.
